CoSAFA aims to establish commonly understood and universally recognized procedures for decoupling SAF’s environmental attributes from the physical product while allowing the customer complete visibility of the environmental attributes and available SAF claims of purchased SAF. Throughout the entire SAF life-cycle, well-designed chain of custody protocols will allow product and transaction tracing, provide an appropriate means of verifying relevant data, and prevent fraudulent double counting of environmental attributes. This transparency provides confidence and clarity for SAF use and adoption. It is essential that product carbon intensity and other sustainability data be consistently reported, auditable, and traceable to the party providing the information.
