The California LCFS has served as a catalyst for billions of dollars of investments in clean fuels and has proven to be a model for the world on how to reduce emissions in the transportation sector.

The 2022 update to the Scoping Plan is the state’s response to the need for a holistic strategy to achieve legislatively mandated greenhouse gas reduction targets including achievement of carbon neutrality by 2045. It demonstrated that there is no path to achieving the state’s climate goals without strengthening the LCFS.

AJW appreciated the opportunity to present our recommendations for an acceleration mechanism during CARB’s LCFS workshop on May 23, 2023. To supplement this presentation with additional discussion, AJW submitted a white paper outlining our recommendations in more detail.
