Rich Kassel brings his expertise in clean transportation, alternative fuels, zero emission vehicles, and clean air quality to AJW, at a time when the world is at an inflection point in the energy transition.
Before joining AJW, Rich directed the Clean Energy and Sustainability practice at Capalino, a leading strategic consulting firm in New York City. He was honored as one of New York's "50 Over 50" leaders in 2019 and as one of its "Energy and Environment Power 100" in 2020 and 2021 by City & State.
Prior to joining Capalino, Rich spent more than two decades advocating for New York, national, and international clean air, energy, and transportation issues as a Senior Attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and also directed the New York office of Gladstein, Neandross & Associates, specializing in alternative fuel and electric vehicles.
Entrepreneurial in spirit and a strong strategic thinker, Rich was part of the founding team of three successful nonprofit organizations earlier in his career and continues to serve on multiple boards - experiences that help him advise startups, established businesses, and NGOs in New York, Washington, and around the world.
In addition to his nonprofit board activities, Rich chairs the U.S. EPA's Mobile Source Technical Review Subcommittee, which provides independent advice and counsel on the agency's transportation and air quality programs.
