Andrew Koehler’s academic and research background in environmental engineering gives him technical insight and research experience in topics such as renewable energy and water pollution. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at The Colorado School of Mines where he studies biomass conversion to fuels and chemicals, along with environmental and energy policy. He also conducts research on sustainable aviation fuel at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) through an NREL Energy Fellowship from the Colorado School of Mines. Andrew maintains ties with the water industry as a student researcher for the National Science Foundation funded Engineering Research Center for Re-Inventing the Nation’s Urban Water Infrastructure (ReNUWIt).
Prior to joining AJW, Andrew was a Fulbright Fellow in Sri Lanka. He holds B.A.s in Chemistry and Physics from Coe College, and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from The Colorado School of Mines..
