Haley Armstrong joined AJW as an Associate in April 2016. Prior to joining AJW, Haley worked at the Institute of Clean Air Companies (ICAC) as their Marketing Coordinator. Haley continues to work closely with ICAC, as the organization is now managed by AJW. She is responsible for the ICAC weekly newsletter, membership management, meeting coordination, and maintains the organization’s website and social media.
From 2013 to 2015, Haley served as a Program Coordinator at American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AFAvH), promoting academic cooperation between researchers and professionals in Germany. As a Program Coordinator, Haley maintained the AFAvH website and social media, managed the marketing of fellowship opportunities in Germany for print and online advertising, promoted the Foundation at national meeting and conferences, and served as the liaison for both prospective applicants and alumni of the Humboldt Foundation in the US.
Haley received her B.A. in Government and German from the University of Texas at Austin. She also attended Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg in Germany, where she studied politics of the European Union and the German language. Haley interned as a Legislative Associate for the Travis County Intergovernmental Relations office during the 2011 Texas legislative session, tutored students in the University of Texas German Department, and worked in the University of Texas Campus Events and Entertainment office to coordinate large, campus-wide activities. Haley is a member of the D.C. chapter of the Texas Exes alumni group, and in her spare time she enjoys hiking, traveling, live music, and spending time with her dog, Sophie.
